Frank Dwyer

Founding Partner of DW Legal, Frank is a commercial lawyer with extensive experience in providing exceptional legal services. With a diverse client base in various industries in Queensland and overseas, Frank has the experience and knowledge to add value to your business.

His committment to the commercial objective and well-thought-out solutions to difficult problems have earned him the trust of his clients.   • Working for developers from site acquisition to sellout. Acted in over 500 lots (vacant land and strata) in the Brisbane – Gold Coast corridor in the last few years, incl to work with teams of project directors, builders, sales agents and strata managers.
  • Sale of over $100m portfolio of CBD buildings in Brisbane and Gold Coast involving FIRB advice and vendor  finance / security arrangements.
  • Complex sale of a private hospital including prior restructure to minimise CGT and duty, shareholders agreements and transfer of unionised workforce incl to manage teams of lawyers, accountants and valuers.
  • Acting for private financiers of property developers including loan and security agreements.
  • Acquisition and sales of hotels and resorts.
  • Larger M&A work incl restructures of medical, dental and engineering businesses incl to manage staff and payroll issues.
  • Managing AGMs for public companies incl acting as independent chair of a tense AGM with over 500 shareholders.
  • Successfully managing and resolving a Board dispute for well known Gold Coast hotel and resort.
  • Corporate lawyer for many businesses incl taxi companies, medical businesses and national retailers.
  • Advising several franchisors about optimal structure, IP licensing, compliance and rollout ol franchises.
  • Drafting business terms and conditions, constitutions and bespoke trust deeds incl E-commerce solutions for several IT companies, travel companies and international businesses.
  • Provided legal services in Japanese for Japanese businesses in Australia, and Australian businesses operating in Japan, for many years, including acting for a large wagyu beef operation based in Japan with operations in Australia.
